Summer Tour

After officially standing down as leader of the Liberal Democrats yesterday afternoon, Tim Farron today spent his first day after the leadership starting his Summer Tour of local villages.

Tim visited Milnthorpe, Arnside, Storth and Beetham today, to meet local residents and hear about the issues they face.

Tim officially resigned as leader yesterday afternoon, handing over the Lib Dem leadership to former Business Secretary Vince Cable MP.

Tim said: "One of the great advantages of standing down as leader is that I can give my undivided attention to my constituency, and to the issues facing local people.

"It was great to start my annual Summer Tour today with visits to villages in the south of the constituency. Thanks for the lovely welcome everywhere!

"Over the next week I'll be visiting the smaller villages across the South Lakes where I don't usually hold surgeries. Please do come along to discuss any issues you have, or just to say hello!"
