Local MP Tim Farron has officially reopened Goodacre Carpets following their closure due to the floods.

The Kendal-based business faced terrible damage following the floods, with buildings and stock damaged by floodwater. Their problems were then compounded by issues with their insurance company. They contacted Tim, who took the case up with the Financial Ombudsman's office, leading eventually to a successful outcome for the business.

The company is now officially back open for business again. It stocks a large range of carpets and rugs, including the biggest selection of handmade oriental rugs anywhere in the North West.

Tim said: "Like so many local businesses, Goodacre Carpets were badly hit by last winter's floods. However, with their insurance problems now resolved, it is fantastic to see them back on their feet and trading again. It was a pleasure to reopen this iconic South Lakeland business, and I wish them every success for the future."
