Cumbrian MP welcomes new mental health support scheme for uniformed service people.
Cumbrian MP Tim Farron has welcomed the launch of 'One Vision Uniformed Services', a new community-interest company which offers counselling and holistic support to acting uniformed service members, veterans and their families.
Last week, Tim attended the launch of the service which is based in Stricklandgate House in Kendal. He met with staff members and counsellors to find out about the work they intend to provide the community with. The service is led by Janine Brownless, a trauma counsellor previously at Liverpool Veterans HQ.
The service will be offered to uniformed officers and veterans in the South Lakes, Furness, and North Lancashire area.
Speaking this morning, Tim praised the service saying: "I am really happy to see our uniformed officers, veterans, and their families being supported like this.
"Working in these jobs that serve the community and help look after us is a thankless task and often at times doesn't receive either enough recognition or support.
"I was really pleased to have met the team at One Vision Uniformed Services. What they're doing for our uniformed officers and veterans is incredible and I am massively grateful for their work."
