Bank cash up for grabs for community projects
With just one week to go until the deadline, South Lakeland MP Tim Farron is encouraging local community projects to apply to a bank fund giving out grants of up to £35,000.
The NatWest Skills and Opportunities Fund is currently open to charities, social enterprises, community groups, state-funded schools and colleges. To be eligible, the project must focus on a disadvantaged community and help people to develop, create or access the skills and opportunities they need to help themselves - skills that will increase their financial capability, or enable them to get into work or start a business, now or in the future. The maximum amount that an organisation can apply for is £35,000.
The deadline for applications is midday on Friday 3rd March 2017.
Tim said: "This is the final chance to apply to this scheme, which could see a local organisation awarded thousands of pounds towards a community project. I'd encourage any local residents who are involved in projects that might be eligible to put in an application. This money could make a huge difference."
