As health review starts, Farron calls for acute services to be brought back to Kendal

As the long awaited review of health services begins, South Lakes MP Tim Farron has called on residents to get involved in the consultation and help bring back Accident and Emergency services to Westmorland General.

Local NHS organisations including the NHS Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group, Lancashire North Clinical Commissioning Group and UniversityHospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust are currently reviewing local services.

The consultation's questionnaires will be available in places such as GP surgeries and hospitals. It is also possible to request a copy by emailing luke.taylor@tns-bmrb.co.uk or by phoning 01539-715219. Tim has today publicly called on people to request a survey and to tell health bosses that they want to see acute services brought back to South Cumbria.

Ulverston on Tuesday 19th March

Grange-over-Sands on Wednesday 20th March

Kendal on Thursday 21st March

Windermere on Friday 22nd March

Barrow on Saturday 23rd March

Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale on Monday 25th March

Tim said: "Over the last two years we have been able to bring chemotherapy to Westmorland General Hospital and we are well on the way to bringing a radiotherapy unit too. Now I want us to try and bring Accident and Emergency Services back to the hospital. If we can do this it will bring many more facilities and added benefits for patients and residents."
