Tim Farron joined with local campaigners and the new Lib Dem Party President Baroness Sal Brinton to launch his new 'Access for all' campaign on Saturday afternoon.

Baroness Brinton, who is disabled herself, joined Tim to call for better disabled access for residents and tourists along the Windermere to Oxenholme branch line.

Tim recently helped win £16million of funding to electrify the line - and cleaner, faster electric trains could be powering along it as early as 2017. He now wants to build on that work.

During the last five years as MP, Tim bid for funds to improve disability access. At the time funding was given to stations that were thought to have greater access needs. He plans, should he be re-elected to 're-double' his efforts to secure funding to make the stations accessible for all.

Tim said: "I'm proud that we secured £16 million to electrify the Line, now the challenge to make it accessible for all. This is why I have launched this campaign to make sure everyone can use the line and the stations along it."
