ELECTION LATEST: It's Lib Dem or Conservative
Elections in Westmorland and Lonsdale are a close fight between the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives
Your vote WILL make the difference between whether our MP is Lib Dem Tim Farron or a Conservative.

The last two elections in Westmorland have been on a knife edge between Tim Farron and the Conservatives, with majorities of just 777 and 1,934.
And the contest for who will be our MP after this year’s General Election looks set to be closer than ever before.

That’s because boundary changes at this election mean that lots of towns and villages from Eden, which have had a Conservative MP for over 100 years, are joining Westmorland and Lonsdale.
There are two choices here in the General Election. Either we will get a Conservative MP who will toe the party line. Or we will have Tim Farron, an independent-minded MP with a long track record of fighting for our communities and getting things done.
No other result is possible here.
A Labour vote will help the Conservatives win
Whilst both Labour and the Green Party have pockets of support locally, they can’t win across the constituency.
Voting for either Labour or the Green Party risks letting the Conservatives win. Only a vote for Tim can get us the fair deal we deserve.

Even Labour HQ have admitted they are not fighting to win in Westmorland and Lonsdale.
The Labour Party’s national HQ call Westmorland and Lonsdale a ‘non-battleground’ seat.

The Labour Party’s national volunteering website tells their supporters in Westmorland and Lonsdale to campaign in Barrow instead.
