South Lakes MP, Tim Farron, has called on other MPs in parliament to get involved with the Samaritan's Purse Christmas campaign to help vulnerable children in Eastern Europe.

The campaign, called 'Operation Christmas Child', is run annually by Samaritan's Purse in collaboration with the Westmorland Gazette and encourages people to fill a medium sized gift-wrapped shoebox with small gifts for a boy or girl, aged between two and four, five and nine, or 10 and 14. Acting in parliament Tim has called on all MPs to get involved and emulate this campaign in their own constituencies.

Commenting Tim said: "This is a fantastic campaign which is so easy to get involved with and allows people to give back during the Christmas period in a creative and highly beneficial way."

"These shoeboxes offer a beacon of joy and hope to those that need it most over the winter months and I could not be more proud to be promoting it and call on other MPs to promote it in their own constituencies."
