South Lakes MP Tim Farron was quizzed on a range of topics as he visited John Ruskin school's lunchtime debating club in Coniston.

Discussions ranged from international politics including Russia and Donald Trump, to the effect of exams and social media bullying on young people's mental health.

Tim said: "I really enjoyed my time with school's debating club.

"I was impressed by how insightful and thoughtful the discussions were, especially on the subject of mental health and the range of factors that can lead to people of their age struggling with their mental health.

"The pupils are an absolute credit both to themselves and to their school."
