South Lakes MP Tim Farron is urging Cumbrian businesses to attend a Kendal event hosted by UK Trade & Investments to try and grow their business in Japan.

The event, held at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal on Tuesday 8th April, is aimed at North West business professionals with little or no prior knowledge of Japan. The event aims to help explain how to approach Japan as a place to do business.

Within the seminar delegates will learn the psychology behind Japanese business culture, including formality, interpersonal relationships and emphasis on 'the group'. There is also the opportunity to develop an understanding of Japanese working practices and how, in a modern Japan, these are changing.

This event will offer presentations from various speakers to help learn more about the Japanese market.

Tim said: "This is a great opportunity for local companies to meet with UKTI experts on a 1-2-1 basis and talk through their export strategies. This event is definitely something I would encourage local businesses to sign up to."
