Local MP Tim Farron took to a static bike in order to raise money for The Royal British Legion's Annual Poppy Appeal which will help provide the lifelong support needed for the Armed Forces community.

The 12-hour bike ride saw MPs race against Service Personnel.

During his five-minute time-slot Tim managed to cycle an impressive 3.42km putting him high up on the leader board.

Tim said: "It was great to be able to put my fitness to the test to cycle as far as I did in five minutes for such a good cause.

"The work of our armed forces needs to be celebrated and their support should continue long after they leave the force."
