MP praises Small Business Saturday

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has welcomed and praised Small Business Saturday for being a 'big success'.
Small Business Saturday is a grass-roots campaign encouraging people to shop locally and support small businesses in the community. In the US, where it's an established commercial holiday, it generated $5.5 billion in sales in 2012.
Tim said: "Small Business Saturday was a great event and I hope it will be bigger and better in the next few years. Local residents have told me how much they care about our high streets, particularly the small and independent businesses. This is our opportunity to support those businesses and back their unique contribution to our local area."
