South Lakes MP Tim Farron has praised the emergency services for their 'swift reaction' to the bus crash this morning between a school bus and a HGV lorry.

It is believed that 20 people have been injured in this morning's accident. The bus was carrying passengers at the time, including school children aged between 13 and 16. No child has been seriously injured.

Three adult passengers have been taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment for injuries, not life threatening. Police say the driver of the HGV, aged 44, was removed from the cab by emergency services and he was taken to the RoyalPrestonHospital with serious, but not life threatening injuries.

Tim said: "I want to pay tribute to the emergency services for their commitment, speed and professionalism. They did amazing work this morning and I want to thank them for all they did."
