MP praises community spirit during litter pick in Arnside

South Lakes MP Tim Farron joined forces with local residents on Friday afternoon to help clean up the foreshore in Arnside.

The event was jointly organised by Tim and LOVEmyBeach, the North West campaign for cleaner beaches and seas.

Over the two hours, volunteers collected around 40 kilos worth of rubbish on the shoreline.

Tim said: "I want to say a massive thanks to everyone who donned their wellies and came along to help us with the litter pick.

"The litter pick showed me that residents care about the communities they live in and want to contribute to keep them clean and tidy.

"I am pleased to have lent a hand today and have seen community spirit in action."
