Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron cut the ribbon to officially open the Lakes Hospitality Association Trade Show last week.

The Trade Show, held at the Auction Mart by Junction 36, provided an opportunity for local businesses to showcase their offerings and to promote themselves and the area.

After opening the show, Tim visited the different stalls to discuss with local entrepreneurs and find out how their businesses had been affected by the floods and how they were fighting back.

Tim said: "It was great to be able to open the Trade Show, and to see the fantastic array of local businesses that were there. It is testament to the fantastic entrepreneurial spirit of our area that there was so much on offer.

"From speaking to the local business owners at the show, it was clear that although we have suffered greatly in the floods, Cumbria is very much back open for business again."

The photo from the event shows Tim with Jo Evans from Bespoke Aroma, a Windermere-based company selling natural bath and body products.
