Kirkby Lonsdale pupils met local MP Tim Farron in parliament earlier this week, as part of a trip to learn more about the political system.

The pupils from St Mary's Primary School visited parliament on Tuesday. They went on a tour of parliament and also met Tim for a Q&A about his work in Westminster.

Tim said: "It was fantastic to see the pupils from St Mary's Primary School down in Westminster, and I was impressed by their questions. I hope the visit enabled them to learn more about how politics works and how I represent our area in parliament. I hope they also enjoyed learning about parliament's unique history - we held a Q&A session in Westminster Hall on the very steps where Charles I was sentenced to death."
