South Lakes MP Tim Farron joined with Amber Watch at Kendal Fire Station on Friday evening to see for himself the work that they do.

Tim went along to learn about the work of the fire fighters in keeping residents safe. Tim met with senior managers and firefighters, listening to their views.

Tim said: "I was delighted to meet fire-fighters at Kendal Fire Station. The staff do amazing work and as well as visiting to listen, it allowed me to say thank them for all they do.

"It is a common misperception that all fire-fighters do is put out fires. In fact, their work is much more wide-ranging. Local fire officers are doing a tremendous job to make people's homes safe, educating young people about fire safety and preventing fires in the first place."
