South Lakes MP Tim Farron has backed a campaign run by the Residents' Association to improve youth facilities on the Rinkfield Estate in Kendal.

Tim met campaigners with local councillor Graham Vincent and they agreed to take the issue up with the council. Graham agreed to fix the zip wire and repair the roundabout.

The Residents' Association are planning to do a survey asking people for their views and they will feed back the results to the council. The association will also look to bid for funding from the lottery to pay for better play equipment.

Tim said: "It was great to meet with the Residents' Association and I am keen to do whatever I can to support them. I will work with them to support any bid they make for lottery funding.

"I hope that local residents will work with the association and let them know what they want to see in the park so that we can work together to try and deliver it."
