Milnthorpe's MP Tim Farron has thanked the Football Foundation for giving a £2,248 grant to Milnthorpe & District Youth FC.

Tim was told the news in the letter from the Football Foundation Chief Executive Paul Thorogood. The grant will be used to replace goal posts which according to the letter are unsafe.

The Football Foundation is the largest sports charity in the UK funded by the Premier League, The FA and Government (via Sport England). It funds the development of new and refurbished grassroots sports facilities improving the quality and experience of playing sport at the grassroots level to sustain and increase participation and improve general skills levels.

Tim said: "This is great news for the village and great news for the club. I know that the team is at the heart of community life in our village and I'm delighted that they have been given this grant to improve facilities for young people in Milnthorpe."
