Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron has visited St. Mark's School, Natland, to meet with pupils and discuss his role as an MP.

Tim met with the School Council and spoke to the students about the democratic process and his role as an MP, ahead of the students' visit to the Houses of Parliament later this week.

The pupils quizzed Tim about a wide range of issues, from his pets through to his views on how to deal with the refugee crisis.

Tim said: "I was hugely impressed by the students' knowledge and range of interests. They asked thoughtful questions and it was clear that they were keen to learn more about how politics works. I had a great time visiting the school, and hope that the students enjoy their trip to Parliament later this week."
