Local Lib Dems Campaign For Europe
Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron joined with volunteers from the local Liberal Democrat party to hold a street stall on Saturday to promote the 'Remain' campaign for the European Referendum.
The street stall, held in the centre of Kendal on Saturday afternoon, was an opportunity for Tim and the other volunteers to speak to the public about the upcoming referendum, and to make the case for remaining in Europe.
The street stall held in Kendal was one of more than 200 taking place across the country as part of a national day of action promoting the 'remain' side of the debate.
Tim said: "The event in Kendal had a very positive feel - people know that there is a huge deal at stake in this referendum, not just for them, but for their children and grandchildren. The European referendum will be the most important vote in a generation, and it is vitally important that we vote to stay in. The UK is more prosperous and safer as part of Europe. A vote to remain is a vote in favour of a positive, outward-looking country which seeks to work with our neighbours to deal with the challenges we face, not turn our back on them."
