Local community champion selected as Lyth Valley by-election candidate
The Liberal Democrats have chosen local resident and community campaigner Jane Hall to fight the Lyth Valley ward in the South Lakeland District Council by-election on November 4th.
The contest is likely to be a straight fight between the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives.
Jane Hall has lived in Lindale for many years. She is currently the chair of Lindale parish council and is a well-known local champion for her community. Jane currently works as a casework advisor in Tim Farron MP's constituency office.
Before that Jane was a teacher at Windermere St Anne's school.
Tim Farron said: "Jane will make a fantastic representative for the area. She has spent five years helping local people with their problems through her day job and I'm confident that if she is elected Jane will carry on that great work on the district council."
Jane said: "I hope to be given the chance to represent the Lyth Valley on South Lakeland District Council. I'm relishing the opportunity to serve the wider community and in the next few weeks I'll be pounding the streets and lanes, meeting local residents, finding out about local issues and how I can help."
