Kerbside recycling reaches Grange
Grange Councillor Eric Morrell and local MP Tim Farron have welcomed the rollout of kerbside recycling in Grange, which starts this week.
From today, (Monday 9th January) residents in Grange-over-Sands will start to receive their blue re-usable recycling bag, ready for the start of plastic and cardboard kerbside collections.
Eighty five per cent of South Lakeland is already covered by kerbside recycling, and nearly 3000 properties in Grange-over-Sands will now be added to that total. An information leaflet will also be delivered along with the bag.
Grange Councillor Eric Morrell said: "I am delighted that kerbside recycling has come to local residents here in Grange. The old recycling bank was a hassle to get to. Kerbside recycling will make it quicker and easier to recycle, and help our area continue to get greener."
Local MP Tim Farron said: "Last year was the greenest year ever for South Lakeland, with record levels of recycling. It is fantastic to see the Lib Dem-run council expanding recycling across the district and playing its part in looking after our environment. My thanks go to the District Council, and to committed local councillors such as Eric, as well as to all the individuals who choose to make use of the opportunities to recycle."
