South Lakes MP Tim Farron has congratulated four local good causes who have won funds from the 2014 Lloyds Bank Community Fund in and around Westmorland and Lonsdale.

The shortlist of 1,400 good causes was put to a public vote between 2 September and 10 October, with people voting in branch, online, via SMS text message, and, for the first time, on Twitter. As a result an incredible 1.5 million votes were cast. Over 700,000 people will now benefit directly or indirectly as a result of the Fund

Here are the results for the groups in and around Tim's constituency:

  • South Lakeland Hydrotherapy Trust (SLHT) £3000
  • Sight Advice South Lakes £500
  • Flooks 4 Youth £500
  • Bay Search and Rescue £300

Tim said; "Congratulations to all four winners who have been awarded £7,000. Each one of these organisations do amazing work and make a real difference to our community. I want to thank each of them for all they do.

"I'm delighted that each organisation has been recognised and I want to thank Lloyds Bank customers and everyone for taking the time to vote. It will make a big difference for four worthy local causes."
