Farron urges people to come forward and volunteer for Torchlight
The team behind Torchlight need 160 people to volunteer during the day and evening of Friday 11th September 2015 to help run this fantastic community and family event. Tim has urged local people to come forward to volunteer for the event which he says 'represents the best of Kendal'.
The Torchlight team currently need:
- 70 Torchlight Marshals
- 14 Road Closure Marshals
- 13 Entrants Marshals (banksman training provided)
- 14 Marshal Supervisors

They also need:
- 5 Administrators
- 10 Programme Sellers
- 14 First Aiders
- 10 Event Runners (runners can be under 18)
- 4 Torch Handlers
- 4 Child Protection Officers

Tim said: "Torchlight is one of the high points of the year. I love going with Rosie and the kids and usually I try to either be a marshal or on a float raising money for local good causes. I hope that lots of people come forward to be a marshal. Torchlight represents the best of Kendal - the whole community coming together to celebrate.
"I also want to pay tribute to the team who have re-started Torchlight. They should be incredibly proud of their efforts and I will continue to help and support them in any way I can."
