Farron praises Kendal indoor play centre campaign in Parliament
Local MP Tim Farron has tabled a motion in Parliament congratulating a community group who are trying to create a new indoor play area in Kendal.
The group, Outside-In, want to create a brand new indoor play area, where parents and children alike can have fun and get a break from the Lake District weather.
Outside-In is run by mother-of-two Mhairi Helme, and her husband John.
The couple are aiming to raise £100,000 to make the project - which includes shops, a café, and even a miniature Kendal Market - possible.
Mhairi and John say they put their "heart and soul" into their first application for funding this week, which they hope will make up a "major portion" of the funds they need to raise.
Tim said: "This is a really exciting community project that is definitely needed here in Kendal.
"Being out in nature is vitally important to a child, but every town can benefit from a safe and fun place where children can play and parents can catch their breath - especially one that keeps us out of the rain!
"I know that Mhairi and John are putting a lot of hard work into this project, and I'm sure that as a community we will all get behind them to make it a reality."
