Farron launches Marie Curie daffodil appeal 2012

South Lakes MP, Tim Farron, was at the Why Not Alpaca Farm in Sedbergh yesterday morning to launch Marie Curie Cancer Care's Great Daffodil Appeal across the county.

Tim joined Alpaca farmer Caroline Sandys-Clarke, Marie Curie's Cumbria County Patron as well as Community Fundraiser Sarah Fletcher along with to call on people across the county to make a donation to the charity during March and wear a daffodil pin in support of the Marie Curie Nurses.

Cash raised from the appeal will help to provide more free nursing care to enable those who are suffering with terminal cancer and other illnesses to receive care in the comfort of their own homes.

Collections for the appeal will be held in supermarkets and streets across Cumbria.

Commenting after the launch Tim said: "Marie Curie Cancer Care is a truly fantastic organisation that works with cancer sufferers to ensure they are able to spend their final days in the comfort of their own homes surrounded by the people they love. Every daffodil you buy or donation you make will go towards not only enabling Marie Curie to continue to deliver high quality care for patients, but will also help to raise the profile of this dedicated and vital organisation."
