Local MP Tim Farron has called on Cumbria's councils to work together to improve cycling provision in the South Lakes.

Tim is calling on all tiers of local government to work together to improving cycling infrastructure in our area. He believes that more can be done to make cycling easier. Tim is also stressing the need to improve cycling infrastructure, which he believes will help boost tourism in our area.

Tim said: "The Government is making it easier for councils to install mirrors at junctions, has invested £11 million for childrens cycle training and £15 million for better cycle routes and facilities across the country. If we want to encourage the growth we have seen in cycling in recent years, we need to do more to create the local infrastructure to support that."
