Next Saturday (24th), local MP Tim Farron will run the Great Langdale half marathon to raise money for St John's Hospice.

St John's Hospice provides free palliative care to patients with life shortening conditions in the South Lakes, North Lancashire and parts of North Yorkshire.

According to race organisers Brathay, the Great Langdale half marathon is "the most scenic UK half marathon" but also "one of the toughest".

People can sponsor Tim and donate to St John's Hospice by going here.

Tim said: "I am in awe of the amazing work that St John's Hospice do, especially during this crisis, in giving vital care to patients and their families.

"I'm proud to be running for St John's Hospice and would be enormously grateful for any donations you can give to support them.

"There will be so many people taking part next Saturday to raise money for such worthy causes and charities, so I'm delighted that the event is able to go ahead."
