MP encourages South Lakes residents to have a flu jab this winter

Local MP Tim Farron visited the Well Pharmacy in Kendal to receive his flu jab last week. He is encouraging people to ensure they do the same to protect themselves against the harmful virus this winter.

For the first time, all primary school pupils can have the vaccination free, as well as over-65s, pregnant women and those with existing illnesses.

According to the BBC, 1,700 deaths in the UK last year were linked to flu.

Tim said: "Pharmacies and GP surgeries across the South Lakes are offering the flu jab this winter. It is completely safe, will only take a few minutes and could ultimately save a life."
