Local MP Tim Farron is calling for Kendal's annual Remembrance Day parade to be reinstated.

This year's parade was cancelled because of a change in arrangements to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One.

Tim is calling for a meeting with representatives from the town council, the Legion and the police to find a way of putting the parade back on.

Tim said: "The Remembrance Day parade is a very special moment in Kendal's calendar as it gives local people the chance to show our appreciation for those who gave everything so that we could have a better tomorrow.

"There is overwhelming public support for the parade and I'm optimistic that we can find a solution."
