KENDAL HOSTS YET ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL MINTFEST DESPITE DOWNPOUR
Despite the poor weather Mintfest 2011 brought Kendal a mix of over 150 spectacular local and international outdoor entertainers to the streets and has been heralded as a 'major success' by local MP Tim Farron.
The final Lakes' Alive event of summer 2011 has been a huge success, street artists from across the globe filled Kendal with exhilarating and entertaining acts that saw the town and its visitors highly entertained.
From break dancers to aerial acrobatics, Mintfest hosted a wide range of acts that attracted both spectators of all ages, with the 'Garden of Delights' in Noble's Rest and the Sunday night climax, 'As The World Tipped', an exhibition of incredible aerial theatre, being particular highlights for many.
Tim commented: 'Mintfest is always a brilliant event for Kendal. It's exciting to see the streets bursting with entertainers and spectators and this year certainly did not disappoint. The festival always displays something for everyone while still exploring and extending the boundaries of street entertainment, my children loved it and despite the weather it was a great weekend!'
