It’s time for our mental health services to be provided by a trust that puts our area first - MP

4 Feb 2019

Commenting on the news that Cumbria Partnership Trust is set to merge with North Cumbria Hospitals Trust, South Lakes MP Tim Farron said:

"Today's news that the Trust which is meant to run the mental health services for the whole of our county is set to merge with the hospital trust in North Cumbria, will make those in our part of the county feel even more overlooked and at the back of the queue then at present.

"Alongside Conservative government cuts, the total lack of leadership for our mental health services is behind the very poor outcomes for individuals and families living with mental health conditions in the South Lakes and Barrow.

"This announcement today means that it is now urgent that mental health services in South Cumbria should now be provided by a different trust that puts our area first."
