GAZETTE LETTER LEADS TO SCHOOL VISIT
Local MP Tim Farron will visit Staveley Primary School tomorrow to talk to pupils from years 3 and 4 about the importance of looking after the local environment, after the MP responded to a letter in the Westmorland Gazette written by school's pupils about the number of potholes in the roads around Staveley.
Commenting Tim said:
"Tomorrow's visit all came about from a letter written by the pupils to the Gazette about the number of potholes in the roads around the school. I wrote a letter to back to the school congratulating the pupils for taking such a keen interest in their local environment and the children and their teacher kindly invited me in to talk to them.
"I'm delighted to have this opportunity to visit Staveley Primary School and to talk to the pupils about their work taking care of our environment and to discuss with them their concerns for the village.
"The pupils of Staveley Primary School have set a wonderful example by doing their survey of the village and then taking their concerns up with people in authority."
