Farron unveils plaque to celebrate local company's 40 year anniversary

Tim Farron today visited Lakelovers, to unveil a plaque at their official celebration to mark 40 years of serving the Lake District.

Lakelovers, which lets holiday cottages throughout the Lake District, is based in Windermere and was established in 1977. Tim met with staff members to hear about the business before unveiling the plaque to celebrate their 40th anniversary.

Tim said: "It was great to unveil the plaque today to celebrate 40 years of Lakelovers. The company's impressive success is a tribute not only to the outstanding beauty of our area, but also to the hard work and entrepreneurial spirit of local people. I congratulate all who have played a part in building the company up over the last 40 years.

"The tourist industry plays a vital role in the local economy, bringing in millions of pounds and supporting thousands of jobs. I will always work hard to support local businesses so that our area can continue to thrive."
