Farron announces Christmas Card winners
South Lakes MP Tim Farron has congratulated two local pupils who have won his 2016 Christmas Card competition, and whose designs will feature on the cards he sends this year.
The winning design for Tim's local Christmas card came from Chloe Dent, a Year 5 pupil at Vicarage Park Primary School in Kendal. The card will be sent to almost 40,000 homes across Tim's constituency.
Lily Parkin, aged 8, from Heron Hill Primary School in Kendal, was the winner of the national Christmas card competition. Her design will appear on the card Tim sends out nationally, including to the Queen.
In addition to their design being used on Tim's cards, both of the winners received a £30 book token from Tim.
Tim said: "My thanks and congratulations go to both Chloe and Lily! The Christmas Card Competition gets harder and harder to judge each year as the standard of entries just keeps going up, but their designs really stood out. They are both incredibly talented artists, and I am delighted their work will now be seen and admired by thousands of people, from South Lakes residents through to the Queen! These fantastic designs are a great way to wish people a very Happy Christmas!"
