PCT agrees to hold off controversial plans after MPs intervention

19 Nov 2008

Cumbria PCT have agreed to withhold plans to pass over operational responsibilities for NHS Baycall to CueDoc® after an intervention from local MP Tim Farron convinced them to reconsider their decision.

Following a letter from Mr Farron, NHS Cumbria have agreed to put the merger out to tender and seek a public consultation

Commenting Mr Farron said:

"I am absolutely thrilled that NHS Cumbria has accepted the concerns of many of our local residents and has agreed to alter its decision.

"The decision to put the merger out to tender and issue a public consultation means that both patients and staff will be able to have their say on a major decision which will affect healthcare in our community."
