MP comments on report into Morecambe Bay Hospital Trust

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has this afternoon commented on a report from Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman report into the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust.

The report described the 'tragic and avoidable' death of a baby at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust in 2008.

Commenting on the report Tim said: "Having to wait for six years to be told this has added undue stress, hurt and pain onto grieving families. That is totally unacceptable. I want to pay tribute to all the families who have campaigned and pressed for answers. I have tried to help and support them throughout this long search for the truth.

"When reports like this come out, we always hear that things have changed, and things will be different. I challenge the trust to not just say that, but actually show us. This must never, ever happen again."
